Walking or cycling is cumbersome when walking from Pollgata to Bæjarbrekka. There is no direct route, and those using the footpath must pass across Pollgata, Skutulsfjardarbraut and then cross Bæjarbrekka. Alternatively, walk around to the crossing at Husið.
Tourists and locals already regularly cut across these roads where the crossing is proposed, as it is much more convenient and for tourists, the alternative routes are not obvious.
